As my son smiles and states, “Are you country chic today?” I laugh out loud and reply, “I guess I am.” My aunt raised me and I grew up (in this very house) watching performers on the Grand Ole Opry and listening to country music on the radio. I watched country-themed television programs such as Hee Haw, Dukes of Hazzard, Mama’s Family, The Beverly Hillbillies, and Little House on the Prairie.
I do not have a problem tweaking tradition plaids (and at times: daisy duke shorts, boots and cowboy hats) in fresh, flattering way. This day my main goal was to be easy breezy comfortable and it doesn’t get easier than this country chic, shabby, gypsy boho inspired look. I’ve never been one to follow trends. What I wear is 100% fueled by my mood. Today I was in a rustic/whatever chic kind of mood
- plaid shirt
- cropped jeans
- plaid tights
- faux fur ugg inspired boots (soooooo comfortable!!)
The above mentioned together sounds like a disaster but actually, It’s a pretty simple style with STYLE Like I’ve said before, as long as YOU like what you wear, nothing else matters
